I hope you're having warmer, sunnier weather than we are in Michigan. We've had three days of cold weather (60 or below) and rain. We desperately
needed the rain, so I'm not complaining. Fortunately, it's supposed to warm up and get sunny for the 4th of July weekend.
DS and I are doing a lot of running today. We had dentist app'ts, went to the grocery store, stopped and bought the herbs, veggies and flowers for the patio garden (finally!), and I'm heading to tan and then to the pharmacy and chiropractor this afternoon. Tonight, another friend and I are taking dinner to one of my school friends who had foot surgery, so sometime this afternoon I have to make a pasta casserole.
Tomorrow my DB and nephew are coming up. We'll take him to a local dairy for the "tour" (they make and sell cheeses, ice cream and all sorts of goodies), and then they'll head to the sand dunes to play. If it's nice enough out, they're going to 'camp' in the yard.
Then, DS is playing w/the jazz band at the Rothbury music festival both Friday and Saturday. It's a Woodstock type event (see details HERE). I'm not willing to pay the $250 weekend pass price to see him play for 2 hours total, so we won't be going. If we'd had enough time, we could have gotten in free by volunteering to help the band boosters sell ice cream, but with my class and DH smack dab in the middle of cherry season, we passed for this year. Next year, we'll keep the weekend free. Actually, we're already talking about being full-fledged "band parents" this fall because they have an elephant ear bus for special occasions and they almost always need drivers or chaperones for festivals. I won't have to take any more classes for a couple of years, and since I'm not teaching any "new" classes (and only 1 section of English), I should have the time to help out as much as they need. It'll be fun to do something for my own kid for a change.
Have a great day!
